Seasoned Roasted Makhana

Seasoned Roasted Makhana

Makhana, also known as fox nuts or lotus seeds, is a popular and healthy snack in Indian cuisine. Here's a simple recipe to make Masala Potli Seasoned Makhana:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups makhana (Fox Nuts)
  • 2 tablespoons ghee or oil
  • Pick any Masala Potli Makhana Seasoning (adjust to taste)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Optional: Roasted Nuts, Dried Fruits, or Seeds for added crunch and flavor

Instructions:

  1. Dry Roasting Makhana:
    • Heat a heavy-bottomed pan or skillet over medium heat.
    • Add the makhana to the pan and dry roast them for about 5-7 minutes, stirring continuously, until they become crisp. You'll notice the makhana will start to puff up slightly.
    • Once roasted, transfer the makhana to a plate and let them cool.
  2. Seasoning:
    • In the same pan, heat ghee or oil over medium heat.
    • Add the roasted makhana back to the pan.
    • Sprinkle Masala Potli Seasoning over the makhana, adjusting the amount according to your taste preferences.
    • Add salt to taste and mix well, ensuring all the makhana are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
    • If you're adding any optional roasted nuts, dried fruits, or seeds, you can add them at this stage and toss everything together.
  3. Final Touch:
    • Continue cooking the seasoned makhana for another 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, to allow the flavors to meld and the seasoning to infuse into the makhana.
    • Once done, turn off the heat and let the seasoned makhana cool completely.
  4. Serve or Store:
    • Once cooled, transfer the seasoned makhana to an airtight container for storage.
    • Enjoy them as a crunchy and flavorful snack anytime!
